On Thursday, 19/02/2026, His Excellency Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, received His Excellency Colonel Chris Hellier, British Military Adviser in Iraq, and an accompanying delegation.
During the meeting، political and security developments in Iraq and the region were discussed، and the role of the United Kingdom in the international coalition against Daesh and its military assistance to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region was effectively appreciated. He also stressed the importance of improving the UK's relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
The process of reform and reunification of the Peshmerga, the formation of a new cabinet of the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Region with the problems of Erbil-Baghdad and the need to solve them in accordance with the constitution were other topics of the meeting.
