On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, in Washington, the Vice President of the Kurdistan Region, Mr. Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, met with Mr. Eric Trager, a researcher and policy adviser on Middle East affairs at the U.S. Homeland Security Council.
During the meeting، the two sides emphasized the development and continuation of relations between the United States and the Kurdistan Region on the basis of common interests، and discussed the complexity and military developments in Syria، in addition to assessing the consequences of the incidents، the threats of terrorism and Daesh in the region، and stressed the importance of maintaining stability and peaceful resolution of their problems.
