Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa، Vice President of the Kurdistan Region، received Mr. Colonel Matthew Schroepner، U.S. Military Advisor to the International Coalition against Daesh in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
The meeting discussed U.S. relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region، the latest developments and the security situation in the region، the threat posed by ISIS to the region، the coalition's military assistance to the Peshmerga، and a number of important common issues.
The two sides stressed the need for continued joint cooperation to counter terrorism and the threat posed by Daesh in the region، and attached importance to the process of reform and reunification of the Peshmerga forces.
Erbil-Baghdad relations and the outstanding issues between them were another topic of the meeting، in which the continuation of talks to resolve the issues was reaffirmed.
