Bafel Jalal Talabani، President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) received Steve Bittner، the U.S. Consul General in the Kurdistan Region.
The meeting focused on the development of relations and cooperation between the Kurdish people and the American people in all fields، especially diplomatic، security and trade.
The situation in the Middle East was discussed in detail and the two sides agreed to continue talks between the two sides to reduce tensions.
The new cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) was another topic of discussion and President Bafel explained that the PUK efforts are aimed at forming an efficient، strong and serving government before the elections for the Iraqi Council of Representatives.
