The president of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK)، Bafel Jalal Talabani، met with Natalia Pozerev، a member of the French National Assembly، in the parliament's defence committee.
During the meeting، President Jalal Talabani reiterated the continuation of cooperation and joint work between the two sides in order to unify efforts and establish peace and stability in the region in a way that will lead to greater prosperity for our country.
President Bafel reiterated the desire of PUK and the Kurdish people to develop long-standing relations and strengthen joint cooperation with France in various fields، especially in the economic and diplomatic fields، and stated that PUK always looks with respect for the French people and state، especially the sincere stance of Mrs. Daniel Mitterrand، who supported and defended our rights in all the difficult stages of the Kurdish struggle. We don't want to lose sight of those relationships and we want to improve them.
In another part of the meeting، the situation in the Middle East، especially Syria and the Kurdish issue in western Kurdistan، were exchanged and PUK president stressed the need to protect the rights of all nations and components within the framework of the new Syria، and said that the sacrifices and struggles of the Kurdish people in the West should be respected and they should be a real participant in the reconstruction of their country.
