Bafel Jalal Talabani، the president of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) received Qasim al-Araji، Iraq's National Security Advisor، in Dabashan.
In a meeting attended by Jalal Sheikh Naji, head of the Security and Information Agency, and Hiwa Ahmed, head of the region's security agency, security and military developments and coordination between the security forces of the Kurdistan Region and Iraq aimed at maintaining stability in the region were discussed.
During the meeting, PUK president reiterated the party's keenness to strengthen relations and unify intelligence and military capabilities, noting that all efforts should be made within the framework of protecting people's lives and stability in the region, leaving no room for terrorists and eliminating any security vacuum.
President Bafel pointed out that unfortunately today in the Khurmatu border, a brave Peshmerga commander, an officer and a soldier of the Iraqi army were martyred and several other soldiers were wounded. Therefore, it is the duty of all parties to consider the risks and take more stringent and effective measures.
