Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), received Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani in Dabashan.
The meeting addressed political, economic, and security developments. Both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination and cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and Iraq to resolve issues based on the constitution, genuine partnership, and political agreements, particularly focusing on the issue of salaries and the implementation of Federal Court decisions.
During the meeting, both leaders stressed the urgent need to form a service-oriented government founded on the principles of genuine partnership and inclusivity, aiming to become a source of stability and meet the aspirations of all parties.
In this context, President Bafel affirmed that the PUK remains committed to forming a fair and inclusive government, free from discrimination in providing services. He emphasized the party's desire to be a genuine partner in the governance of the region, working responsibly to serve the people and strengthen the region.
Additionally, the meeting addressed issues related to the national census and the implementation of critical national tasks. Both sides underlined the importance of a shared vision for addressing these matters and the need for continued national dialogue and consultation among parties to maintain peace and overcome challenges.
